Account access to annamiepaul.ca is a communication & collaboration service. The annamiepaul.ca social community tools increase the availability of information, encourage healthy debate, and make possible better connections between those who care about the election of a new leader to the Green Party of Canada.

We respect your ownership of and responsibility for the content you choose to share. It is our belief that censoring this content is contrary to a service that bases itself on freedom of expression.

In order to uphold these values, the Annamie Paul Leadership Campaign need to curb abuses that threaten our ability to provide this service and the freedom of expression it encourages. As a result, there are some boundaries on the type of content that can be hosted with your annamiepaul.ca account. The boundaries we've defined are those that serve to enhance the service as a whole.

We respect your privacy and do not sell or lend our e-mail list to anyone. We use security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of data used by our system.

Identification and unsubscribe information

If you received a mailing from us, you are:

  1. a member of the Green Party of Canada
  2. a recent donor or volunteer
  3. have recently taken action with one of our online tools or
  4. otherwise have an existing relationship with us. We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings.

Our Site Security

We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access and use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, to encrypt, or encode, information sent to us. Any personal information you provide to us is exchanged via a secure server. Encryption protects your information, such as your name and address information, by scrambling it before it is sent from your computer. Only once we receive your information is it decoded. We make all reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our own systems and undergo periodic security audits to ensure the safeguarding of this information. Warning: e-mail is not encrypted, nor is it a secure means to send personal information.

Opting Out

If you wish to have any of your personal information removed from our databases, or if you no longer want us to send any further communications to you, please send an e-mail to llewis@annamiepaul.com with your request.

Newsletter Subscriptions

E-newsletters are sent only to users who choose to provide us with their email address. Our newsletter subscriber database is not sold, rented or otherwise to any other parties. Subscribers wishing to update their contact information, or opt-out of receiving newsletters, can use the links provided at the bottom of each newsletter email.

Other online services

Visitors using our online policy development platform and members choosing to use any of our online collaborative tools including our e-mail discussion lists, bulletin boards, etc., are bound by the user-provided content guidelines set out in our Terms of Use. Postings and articles submitted remain property of the Annamie Paul Leadership Campaign and are archived.

Fraud and Crime Prevention

The Annamie Paul Leadership Campaign reserves the right to co-operate with local, national, or international law enforcement or other authorities in the investigation of improper or unlawful activities and this may require the disclosure of personal information. If such an investigation requires disclosure of personal information on file in our records, we may be required by law to cooperate. We also reserve the right to report improper or unlawful user activities on our site, which may require the disclosure of personal information relating to those individuals conducting such improper or unlawful activities.
